Blank Forms invites you to a closing reception for our spring exhibition, Julia Dzwonkoski and Kye Potter: Object Paintings, featuring readings from Kye Potter, Jessica Elsaesser, and Miriam Elhajli.
Kye Potter (b. 1975, Ann Arbor, MI), BA, Film/Video at Antioch College, is an artist working in painting, handbuilt ceramics and books. He’s a collector and curator with an interest in the post-Cage avant garde and its continued imprint on contemporary culture. He’s published dozens of books and records and organized exhibitions and concerts. Recent projects include Naive Poems (AWRY, 2023), co-edited with Michael Klausman, an anthology of poetry by children and Jazz Protein (Pre-Echo, 2023), a cassette compilation of jazz / electronic music from the 80s. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
Jessica Elsaesser is a poet whose recent works have been included in Tagvverk, Salutations by RVNG Intl., Completely and Without Pause – Feminist Notes on Oppression and Expansion, Thou Who Holds but Owns Not by TLTRPreß, Looking for you by Du-Good Press, and Daisyworld magazine.
Miriam Elhajli is a folk singer, composer-improviser, and musicologist whose work is influenced by the musical traditions of her Venezuelan, Moroccan and North American heritage. She lives in New York City, where she performs and works as a researcher at The Association for Cultural Equity founded by Alan Lomax.
